What am I doing wrong???

I’m using this in a batch file. It is supposed to cycle through all the
*.mft files, and the output should be something like:
BIN2HEX 3000 123.MFT > 123.HEX

What is wrong with this batch file?:

@ECHO OFF
FOR %1 IN (*.mft) DO bin2hex 3000 %1 > @NAME[%1]+".hex"

Leave KEYS OFF, 4OS2 does the same thing better.

The nearest thing to a 4OS2 group is this one. <g>

Problem – Winsock.dll in DOS DPMI16 for BC4.5

I write program to take advantage of TCP/IP in DOS DPMI16.

During initiation of function WSAStartup()  to appear error

Runtime error: invalid entrypoint called

Foregoing problem to appear both dynamic and static load WINSOCK.DLL.

If project is "application WINDOWS 3.11" or "EasyWin" everything is OK.

My question
How I can use winsock.dll in DPMI16; or how, in what way I can use TCP/IP
in DOS DPMI16.

smart file copying help

I have an alias called ‘update’ which will copy a file if it is more
recent that the file it is being compared to.

    alias update *copy %& /u /h

What I’d like is an alias that will copy a file if it is DIFFERENT
(newer OR older) compared to the referenced file, or if it exists only
in the source directory.  Why not just copy always?  Performance.  When
most of the files are identical, it saves a lot of time when you don’t
have to copy the files.

Second, what would be nice would be to be able to synchronize two
directories (and I suppose, include subdirectories if I specify a ‘/s’
switch).  Just deleting the destination and then copying over the
source would work, but is not at all efficient.  I’d like it to replace
differing files regardless of date/time, and also add files that are
missing from the destination directory and delete files that don’t
exist in the source directory.  Any ideas (either alias or batch file)
that can do this as (reasonably) efficiently as possible?

Invalid msdos.sys setting

Hope this is the right ng, but I don’t have time to lurk!

Since installing some s/w on my PC (ULead Photo Express 2.0 and Adobe
Photo De Luxe Home Edition 3.0) I get the following error message in the
MS-DOS screen when booting Win98:

Invalid setting in msdos.sys file:DOUBLEBUFFER

This seems to have no effect on the operation of the PC or installed
s/w, but it is an irritant.  Can anyone advise what the problem is and
how I get rid of the error message?

TIA
