I’m afraid our WWW server was temporarily indisposed this weekend, but
everything is back to normal at

       http://www.jpsoft.com/

by now.  Sorry about the inconvenience.

Our ftp site is housed on a different system altogether and suffered no
    interruption in service.

FYI, note that since we only visit this very _unofficial_ newsgroup
sporadically, should the same situation arise again, you may want to
    simply send email to webmas…@jpsoft.com.

They are still around, but their web site seems to be in a right mess.
I’ve tried all weekend to click thru links to various pages, and
reckno that about 70% of the links aren’t working at all. Half the
time I couldn’t get thru to their site – it timed out before I got the
    page.

I had to download 4Dos v5.52 from a site in the Netherlands this
afternoon, and that site was written in the best dutch one could find
(the double variety as far as I’m concerned). However, I made out.

No doubt someone will say this isn’t true, but on several surfs to
http://www.jpsoft.com over the last two days I’ve been met with the dreaded
Error 404 screen of death, where the linked URL isn’t recognised.
Running IE3 here if that’s of any interest.

What you show is "sporadic" visits as compared to the constant deluge of
messages in my mailbox (supp…@jpsoft.com and webmas…@jpsoft.com),
not including CompuServe Mail and Forum messages, etc.  I only read/post
newsgroup messages in my spare time…:-)

Seriously, the newsgroup is definitely NOT a dependable venue, even when
it’s not under immediate attack by cross-posters, spammers, and other
misguided netizens (including our own users who are at times guilty of
failure to RTFM before posting a query here!) … :)

Actually, the main reason I didn’t catch the WWW server problem earlier
is that I was busy answering messages all weekend, and didn’t have time
to check our pages, under the false impression that _someone_ would
    notify webmas…@jpsoft.com.

We do take this group seriously, but we find that it’s very easy for
replies to be missed — the news feeds are just not that reliable, and
each ISP with a news server implements its own policies about how much
to keep around.  If you read this group through a mirrored mail list,
it’s even worse.  So, we prefer to call it "unofficial".  We are of
course glad for the feedback, regardless.
